Purpose and Functionality

UnifiedSMB for WooCommerce integrates with UnifiedSMB Backoffice, a third-party service, to enhance your e-commerce capabilities.
This integration allows for seamless synchronization of your WooCommerce product catalog, customer data, orders, and payment processing with the UnifiedSMB platform.

Product Catalog Synchronization: Your WooCommerce store is automatically updated with product information from the UnifiedSMB Backoffice, ensuring your product listings are always up-to-date.
Customer and Order Synchronization: Customer information and order details are synced between WooCommerce and the UnifiedSMB Backoffice, providing a unified view of your customer interactions and sales.
Payment Processing: The plugin handles online payments through the UnifiedSMB payment platform, offering a secure and efficient checkout process for your customers.
SEO: Meta titles, meta descriptions and keywords maintained in the UnifiedSMB Backoffice are synced onto your products, product categories and brands. The plugin also adds its own SEO editor with a Google result preview and a content analysis, and hands the values over to Yoast SEO, Rank Math or SEOPress when one of those is active.

UnifiedSMB Backoffice Access

Each user of UnifiedSMB for WooCommerce will have a unique URL to access their specific UnifiedSMB Backoffice.
This URL follows a standard format:

Replace [YourBackofficePrefix] with your personalized backoffice prefix provided by UnifiedSMB.

Installation

Minimum Requirements

WordPress 6.6 or greater (WordPress 6.8 or greater is recommended)
PHP 7.4 or greater (PHP 8 or greater is recommended)
MySQL 5.6 or greater
WooCommerce 9.6.0 or greater (WooCommerce 9.8.0 or greater is recommended)

Automatic installation

Automatic installation is the easiest option — WordPress will handle the file transfer, and you won’t need to leave your web browser. To do an automatic install of UnifiedSMB, log in to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to the Plugins menu, and click “Add New.”

In the search field type UnifiedSMB,” then click “Search Plugins.” Once you’ve found us, you can view details about it such as the point release, rating, and description. Most importantly of course, you can install it by! Click “Install Now,” and WordPress will take it from there.

Manual installation

Manual installation method requires downloading the UnifiedSMB plugin and uploading it to your web server via your favorite FTP application. The WordPress codex contains instructions on how to do this here.

Updating

Automatic updates should work like a charm; as always though, ensure you backup your site just in case.

Add – Meta titles, meta descriptions and keywords from the backoffice SEO app are now synced onto products, product categories and brands.
Add – Product image alt texts and image titles from the backoffice are now synced along with the images. Without a title, the original file name is used without its extension, the same way WordPress names an uploaded file.
Add – Added a SEO editor on products, posts, pages, categories and brands with a Google result preview, a live SEO and readability analysis, a score, and social (Open Graph) fields.
Add – Added a SEO score column to the product, post and page overviews.
Add – When Yoast SEO, Rank Math or SEOPress is active the backoffice values are written into that plugin, so the frontend keeps a single source of the meta tags. Without such a plugin, UnifiedSMB outputs the tags itself.
Add – XML sitemap at /sitemap.xml, with a sub-sitemap per post type and per taxonomy, a last modified date, the product images, and a stylesheet that makes it readable in a browser. Pages set to noindex, hidden products and the cart, checkout and my-account pages are left out.
Add – The sitemap is announced in robots.txt, so search engines find it without anything being submitted by hand. The WordPress core sitemap is switched off in favour of it.
Add – Structured data (schema.org JSON-LD) on products, posts, pages and category and brand archives: shop details, breadcrumbs, and per product the price, currency, stock status, SKU, brand and review rating. This is what lets Google show a price and a stock status in the search result.
Add – Open Graph and Twitter card tags, derived from the SEO title, description and the product image, so a shared link gets a proper preview.
Add – A canonical URL on every managed page, including category and brand archives and page two and beyond of an archive.
Add – Cart, checkout, my-account and the order confirmation are automatically kept out of the search results.
Add – A SEO screen under UnifiedSMB, so the sitemap, the structured data, the social tags and site verification are managed from wp-admin instead of in code. It opens on an overview that tells you who is rendering the tags, what is in the sitemap and whether anything is blocking the shop from being indexed at all.
Add – Switch the XML sitemap, the structured data, the social tags and the automatic noindex on cart and checkout on or off individually.
Add – Per post type and per taxonomy: include it in the sitemap, and keep it out of search results. Plus a choice of title separator and the number of URLs per sub-sitemap.
Add – Organisation details for the structured data: company or person, name, logo and the social profiles Google uses as the official accounts of the shop.
Add – Dutch translations for the whole SEO feature: the settings screen, the SEO editor on products and pages, every message in the SEO and readability analysis, and the sitemap overview page.
