All changes require an administrator to select the content and explicitly apply an action. The built-in cleanup and scan tools run locally; optional AI rewriting uses the WordPress core AI Client (WordPress 7.0+) when a provider is configured, or OpenRouter as a fallback, only when explicitly requested.

Key Features:

Basic De-AI (Sanitization): Automatically cleans up common AI formatting issues like em-dashes (
—
), smart quotes, and removes robotic phrases like "In conclusion" or "It is important to note".

Classic / Advanced Views: Keep everyday users focused while still giving operators access to deeper filters, exclusions, custom rules, and billing settings.

Safe Scan Report: Scan published content without changing anything, then review the highest-risk posts first.

AI Artifact Scanner: Flags likely AI artifacts before cleanup and scores posts as Low, Medium, or High.

Before / After Diff: Preview highlighted removed and replacement text before applying cleanup.

Custom Phrase Rules: Add your own phrase library with optional replacements, such as
In conclusion, => Overall,
.

Title-Only / Content-Only Modes: Clean the title, the content body, or both.

Duplicate Phrase Detection: Detect repeated AI-style phrases inside each post.

Title & Content Cleaning: Works on both the post title and the main content area.

Markdown Support: Intelligently detects Markdown code blocks and protects them from being modified.

Automatic Backups: Safety First! Every time you modify a post, we automatically save a JSON backup of the original version to
wp-content/uploads/Hogan_Backup/
.

Undo Last Batch: Restore every post from the latest Hogan batch from the History & Restore screen.

Bulk Actions: Process multiple posts at once from a streamlined dashboard.

Built-In Help: The Help screen explains the recommended workflow directly inside WordPress.

External services

This plugin can connect to the WordPress core AI Client (WordPress 7.0+), OpenRouter, and TutivSoft billing services. These connections are optional and are used only when the corresponding feature is configured (or, for OpenRouter, available via the plugin's own built-in key) and an administrator explicitly uses the related AI or subscription action. The built-in cleanup, scan, preview, backup, and restore features do not require any of these services.

WordPress AI Client (WordPress 7.0+)

On WordPress 7.0 and later, AI rewriting is sent through the WordPress core AI Client using the provider the site owner has configured under Settings > AI Credentials (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google). Hogan Automatic AI does not manage those credentials itself; they are entered once, site-wide, in WordPress core and used only when an administrator runs an AI rewriting action. Requests are subject to the terms and privacy policy of whichever provider the site owner has configured there.

OpenRouter (fallback)

On WordPress versions earlier than 7.0, or on WordPress 7.0+ sites where no core AI Client provider has been configured, the plugin falls back to calling OpenRouter's chat-completions API. As of 4.3.0, this uses either an OpenRouter API key an administrator enters in Hogan AI Settings, or, if none is entered, a dedicated key the plugin fetches and decrypts from its own encrypted manifest hosted on GitHub (
tutivsoft-com/Resources
) — so this fallback path can now run without an administrator configuring a key. In either case, the plugin sends the selected post text, configured editing instructions, and relevant context to OpenRouter only when an administrator runs an AI rewriting action. The plugin does not send content during Safe Scan, preview, or the built-in Basic De-AI cleanup. OpenRouter may process submitted data according to its own policies.

Service: https://openrouter.ai/.
Terms of use: https://openrouter.ai/terms.
Privacy policy: https://openrouter.ai/privacy.

TutivSoft billing

TutivSoft billing is used for optional subscription checkout, the billing portal, installation callback registration, and subscription entitlement synchronization. When an administrator opens the Subscription screen or uses a billing action, the plugin can send the site URL, site name, installation or external customer ID, application ID, billing email, selected product or price ID, and callback URL to the configured TutivSoft billing endpoint. The service can send signed subscription entitlement updates back to the site's REST callback URL. Subscription state is synchronized when the Subscription screen is opened or when an administrator requests a manual refresh. Post content is not sent to TutivSoft by the cleanup or AI service.

Service: https://app.tutivsoft.com/.
Terms of use: https://tutivsoft.com/terms-of-service/.
Privacy policy: https://tutivsoft.com/privacy-policy/.

Privacy

The plugin stores configured settings, subscription state, and local backup files in the WordPress installation. It does not collect analytics or track visitors. The optional external-service behavior is described in the External services section above. Administrators should review the linked provider terms and privacy policies before enabling those services.

Upload the
hogan-automatic-ai
folder to the
/wp-content/plugins/
directory.

Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.

Go to Hogan AI > Settings to choose Classic or Advanced view and configure your preferences.

Go to Hogan AI > Help for the recommended workflow.

Does this plugin edit my posts automatically?

No. You must manually select posts in the Dashboard and click "Apply".
