Most of the web migration software available is hard to use and needs advanced knowledge. Please visit http://www.wplivescraper.com/ for more information. ### Usage #### Single Scrape URL Enter the URL you wish to copy content from. Title You may select a title from the source page or add your own. Post Content You may select multiple areas of the source page including images. Post Type Post Type: Post, Page – Status: Published, Draft, Pending Review Options Only Text and Images – Checked will remove all html elements except p, div, table, list, break, headings, span, and images. CSS will not be included with this option and links and videos are automatically removed. Remove Links – Checked will remove all external links from the content. Add source link to the content – Checked will Add source link to the content. Categories Select a category or create a new one. Tags Select tags from source page or add your own. Navigate to the ‘Add New’ in the plugins dashboard 2. Navigate to the ‘Upload’ area 3. Select wp-scraper.zip from your computer 4. Click ‘Install Now’ 5. Activate the plugin in the Plugin dashboard Using FTP 1. Download wp-scraper.zip 2. Extract the wp-scraper.zip directory to your computer 3. Upload the wp-scraper.zip directory to the /wp-content/plugins/directory 4. This is a massive time saver. I, however, had to make a few minor adjustments to suit our purpose. One change that I had to do was add a redirect to the post edit page after saving the scraped content in single scrape mode. It’ll be great if the author considers this as a feature request. (you don’t say?) I cannot give it a full 5 star review, but it does derive (it), especially for what it tries to achieve. In use, in your admin backend on the purpose build scrape screen, you select the target web-page to (scrap), grab the title, grab the content: then save, but you can only save it as a (Post) – Not a (Page!) Which then necessitates converting it, but at least the image links get dragged over and saved properly. The advert at the bottom isn’t welcome, which then necessitates yet more editing. Now, I’m moving hosts and sites soon, and I am looking at dragging over only half of my content. Cloning is gonna be hard work, this could do it, but the Post -> Page means that it’s a pain. This feature is no doubt in the Pro version, but I don’t know. As I say, this Plugin ain’t half bad, but fiddly to use: especially if you’ve got a hundred or so Pages to go through. If you’ve got the time, then fire it up. I wrote to the plugin owner, and almost immediately, I received a reply from Robert, one of the partners. He was extremely courteous and he followed through with several emails back and forth, all within a short period of time. This challenging issue was resolved very quickly, and now, I have happy clients. I have used the WP Live Scraper plugin for several months now, and found it to be extremely easy to use with no issues other than the one I described above which turned out to be nothing more than CSS code.
