LD to Lifter copies selected LearnDash courses into new LifterLMS courses. It works in small batches (20 courses at a time) so larger sites are less likely to time out. Your existing LifterLMS content is not deleted.
It does not copy student enrollments or learning progress. After migration, review the new courses in the LifterLMS course builder.
What gets migrated:
- Courses (title, content, excerpt, featured image, and mapped settings)
- Lessons, kept on the new LifterLMS course
- Topics, kept on that same course as extra lessons (LifterLMS has no topic type)
- Quizzes, kept on the same lesson or topic they had in LearnDash
- Quiz questions and answers
- Course, lesson, and quiz settings when LifterLMS has a matching option
What is not migrated:
- Student enrollments, completions, or quiz attempts
- Groups, assignments, essays, forums, or certificate designs (a certificate link may still be copied)
Key Features:

Requirements:
- LearnDash LMS must be installed and active
- LifterLMS must be installed and active
Caution:
Never run a migration directly on a live website. Always test the migration on a development or staging site first and take a complete backup before proceeding. Only migrate your live site once you have confirmed that the migration works correctly and reliably in your test environment.

Installation
- Upload the plugin folder to
/wp-content/plugins/ - Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress
- Make sure LearnDash LMS and LifterLMS are both active
- Go to Evolve’s LearnDash to Lifter in the admin sidebar
- Select the courses to migrate and click Start Migration
- Wait for the progress bar to reach 100%
- Open LifterLMS and confirm lessons, quizzes, and questions are on the new course

Will this overwrite existing LifterLMS content?

No. The migrator creates new LifterLMS posts and does not delete existing LifterLMS content. If you run it again on the same LearnDash courses, you will get extra LifterLMS copies.

Do lessons, quizzes, and questions stay on the same course?

Yes. Lessons stay on the migrated course. Quizzes stay on the lesson or topic they belonged to in LearnDash. Questions stay on that quiz. LifterLMS allows one quiz per lesson, so extra quizzes still appear in the same course as their own lessons.

Are student enrollments and progress migrated?

No. Users stay as they are. Enrollments, completions, and quiz attempts are not copied.

What happens to LearnDash topics?

LifterLMS does not have topics. Each topic becomes an extra lesson on the same course, after its parent lesson.

What if migration stops halfway?

Click Reset and then Start Migration again. Batch processing helps reduce timeouts on large sites. Reset does not delete LifterLMS courses already created.

Is it safe to run on a live site?

We recommend running on a staging site first and taking a full backup before migrating.

How many courses can it handle?

The plugin uses batch processing so there is no fixed course limit. Large course libraries have been tested successfully.
